This menu is a very simple menu , you don't need much ingredient and it easy to cook, somehow tofu is very beneficial to our health, as we know tofu is made by soy bean that rich with vitamin and mineral. It is high in protein, low in saturated fats and a good source of calcium as well as vitamin E. It is also cholesterol free. Also known as the cheese of Asia.
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, sliced lengthwise 0.5 inch thick, patted dry
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic,dice
- 1.5 to 2 tablespoons of chili bean sauce
- 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
- 0.25 to 0.5 cup of water
- 1.5 tablespoons of corn starch water or more to desired consistency
How to cook
- Firstly heat a hot pan, add a tablespoon of Seri Murni oil and fry tofu on each side until golden yellow.
- Fry about 1 - 2 minutes each side. Put pan fried tofu aside when finished.
- Prepare all of the vegetables. Heat a wok over high heat.
- Second, Add another tablespoon of Seri Murni oil when the wok is hot and add in dice onions. Saute for about 1 - 2 minutes then add dice garlic until fragrant.
- Toss in the green peppers and stir fry for another minute.
- Add in the chili bean sauce and oyster sauce with a 1/2 cup of water. Add a little more water to the wok if the sauce is too thick. Reduce the sauce for 1 minute.
- Thicken the sauce with the corn starch dissolved in cold water until thickened to your desired consistency.
- Lastly, the vegetables and sauce over the fried tofu and serve immediately for more delicious serve with hot white rice.
